Super Robust, Super Economical:
Even the strongest, heaviest tapes can be torn, ruptured or punctured by falls, jams, heavy and sharp materials or foreign objects. Tapes can often be destroyed in a matter of weeks or months. Dunlop’s solution to this age-old problem is a new and unique tape design: Dunlop Ultra X.
Ultra X is a super strong abrasion resistant ‘crusher weft construction’ manufactured exclusively by Dunlop Conveyor Belts. It has outstanding impact resistance, up to three times tear resistance and up to five times tear resistance compared to conventional multi-ply belts with equivalent tensile strength. Despite its numerous physical and technical advantages, Ultra X is extremely economical in every respect.
– Outstanding Impact Resistance
– At least 30% more joint strength
– Excellent Mechanical Fastener Retention
– Can be used on smaller than normal pulleys
– Low Elongation Compared to ‘Normal’ Ply Tapes
– Short Takeoff Movement Good Boatability
– Good Running Behavior
Ultra X is best joined using the finger joint method. This creates the strongest and most reliable joint possible, retaining up to 90% of its tensile strength. This is because the staggered splice will always create a proportional ‘loss’ of tensile strength equivalent to one ply.
Ultra X’s tear resistance, measured according to the international EN ISO 505 standard, significantly exceeds that of conventional multi-ply tapes. Tear and tear resistance tests are only performed on the actual tape carcass, so the top and bottom coatings are always removed. This ensures that the thickness and quality of the coating does not affect the accuracy and consistency of the tests.
-LONGER WEAR LIFE (UP TO 20% SUPERIOR TO DIN Y)
-REDUCING THE FREQUENCY OF BAND SWITCHING
-MORE ROBUST CARCASS – FEWER REPAIRS
-LOWER MAINTENANCE
-FINGER SPLICING = LESS SPLICE REGENERATION
Ultra X's tear resistance, measured according to the international EN ISO 505 standard, significantly exceeds that of conventional multi-ply tapes.
