Dunlop Staramid was developed as a special lighter alternative to steel cord tape
Dunlop Staramid has been developed as a special lighter alternative to steel cord tape.
It is designed for use on very long conveyors with center distances of up to several thousand meters. Staramid belt’s outstanding features include low elongation and low weight, as well as highly dynamic splicing efficiency. Staramid belts have exceptional durability and have been known to last more than 25 years in some cases.
The carcass is based on the ‘flat warp’ principle. Power transmission is realized through longitudinal Aramid cords. Aramid is made of temperature resistant and extremely strong synthetic fibers that are widely used in aerospace and military applications, including ballistic grade body armor. On either side of the aramid and nylon cords are transverse nylon cords. For particularly demanding applications, it is possible to add extra transverse reinforcement without adversely affecting the longitudinal flexibility of the tape.
It is suitable for use in all areas, including the mining, fertilizer and quarry industries.
Staramid tapes are custom made to order and can be supplied in all Dunlop cover grades. All Staramid tapes are supplied with molded edges. Tensile strengths (N/mm): 630, 800, 1000, 1000, 1250, 1600 and 2000. Available in widths from 500mm to 2200mm.
The worldwide Fenner Dunlop Group has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing the highest quality steel cord tape. In the Netherlands we combine this experience with the latest, most technologically advanced steel cord production line.
It is suitable for use in all areas, including the mining, fertilizer and quarry industries.
